The Plastec Formers team has many years’ experience of fabrication with synthetic materials. Through Innovative thinking we can find solutions to complex design challenges and ensure that an efficient production process is implemented.
Fabrication Techniques:
Bending: Process of manipulating flat Acrylic either by using heat for acute angles or simply cold bending for subtle curves.
Gluing: Depending on the chemical properties of the material being used and the end use, we have a range of glues that may be used to affix two or more plastic together. Note: some plastic materials cannot be glued such as polyethylene.
Polishing: Plastec Formers has a diamond polishing machine used to provide a clean sharp finish. Flame polishing is a technique whereby a flame is passed over an edge creating a smooth and rounded finish.
While the primary material for fabrication is Acrylic the Plastec Formers team also has experience working with:
• Acrylic (Cast and Extruded) • Plexiglas • P.V.C • A.B.S • Styrene |
• ACM Architectural Panels • Polycarbonate Sheet and Film • PETG • Co extruded Acrylic / A.B.S • Acrylic Tube and Rod | |
